Málaga fire caused by the burning of agricultural waste

The ‘Great Fire’ of Málaga, which destroyed 8,225 hectares of land, affected six municipalities and resulted in one death and two serious injuries, was caused by the negligent and illegal burning of agricultural waste, according to investigations carried out by INFOCA.

One person has been arrested and police are searching for a second person in connection with a fire in Mijas on Friday which necessitated evacuating around 70 people from their homes.

Fire destroys three hectares of land in Frigiliana

A fire in the El Tejar Alto and Barranco del Doctor areas of Frigiliana on Tuesday destroyed about three hectares of scrub, olives and pine. Despite being only about 800 metres from the town and with several villas in the affected area, evacuation of homes was not necessary.
