Málaga’s assault on third place in La Liga suffered a setback on Saturday evening as they lost 0-2 to Real Betis, the goals scored by Castro and Dorado.

Athletic Bilbao came from a goal down to clinch an impressive 2-4 first-leg win over Schalke ’04 in the Europa League quarter finals.

AC Milan 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona dominated much of the match against AC Milan with their trademark short, sharp passing game but were unable to break down a stubborn AC Milan and it’s all to play for at the Nou Camp next week.

Record for Ronaldo

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record, becoming the player to reach 100 goals in the shortest time in Spanish league history. In reaching 101 goals in 92 games, Ronaldo surpassed Real legend Ferenc Puskas, who scored 100 in 105 games.

Málaga 4-2 Rayo Vallecano

Málaga completed an impressive and deserved 4-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda on Thursday evening, although they had to rally from going down to an early penalty.

Valencia slipping

Valencia’s grip on third place in La Liga is beginning to slip and on Wednesday night they were beaten 1-2 by bottom club Zaragoza. Pablo gave Valencia an early lead but two goals from Apoño, one from the penalty spot, gave victory to Zaragoza.
