A last minute strike from Cazorla, a beautifully hit free kick, earned Málaga a draw at the Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, cancelling out Benzema’s first half goal. Madrid are now only eight points clear at the top of La Liga and will be disappointed with the score considering their general domination of the match.

Comfortable win for Barcelona

Valencia progress to last eight

A 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven was enough to see Valencia progress to the last eight of the Europa League, completing a 5-3 aggregate victory. Rami put Valencia into the lead before Toivonen grabbed an equaliser in the 72nd minute.

Racing Santander 0-2 Barcelona

Two9 goals from Lionel Messi, bringing him up to 30 for the season so far, gave Barcelona a 0-2 victory over Racing Santander at El Sardinero on Sunday and reduced the deficit at the top of La Liga to ten points.

Real Betis 2-3 Real Madrid

A win is a win, but it wasn’t a very convincing performance from Real Madrid and they could easily have lost their match against Real Betis if two clear penalty incidents had not been passed over by the referee.

Málaga 1-0 Levante

A second half goal from Rondón was enough for Málaga to change places with their opponents, Levante, to occupy that all important fourth place in La Liga. Valencia are the next target, three points ahead at the moment.
