Mijas 2-3 Nerja

After dropping down to third place for a couple of hours due to a later kick-off, Nerja bounced right back up after a 2-3 win at Mijas. They also pulled back two points on the leaders, San Pedro, after they could only draw 1-1 at Rincón.

Nerja 1-2 Úbeda Viva

Nerja remain second in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 but are now ten points behind San Pedro after a 1-2 loss to visiting Úbeda Viva. San Pedro continue on their merry way with a 2-0 win over Dos Hermanas San Andrés.

Málaga 2-0 Espanyol

Two first half goals from Rondón gave Málaga a much needed win against Espanyol on Sunday and they move up to third from bottom and within striking distance of the next few teams above them. As long as they don’t try to leave salvation until the last day, again.

Top two both win

No change at the top of La Liga as both Barcelona and Real Madrid were victorious on Saturday evening.

Real Madrid 3-0 Olympique Lyon

For the first time in seven years, Real Madrid are through to the quarter finals of the Champions League after beating Olympique Lyon 3-0 on Wednesday night. Real began in impressive style, dominating play, with Marcelo, Benzema and Di María scoring the goals to take them onward and upward.

Sevilla 1-1 Barcelona

Barcelona’s lead at the top of La Liga is down to five points after they were held to a draw at Sevilla. Bojan, on as a substitute, gave Barca the lead just before half time but this was cancelled out by a goal from Jesús Navas at the beginning of the second half.

Malaka 1-1 Nerja

Nerja remain in second place in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 after a 1-1 draw at Malaka but are now seven points adrift of San Pedro who overcame Mijas 0-1. Villacarrillo are in third place, three points behind Nerja.

Real Sociedad 0-2 Málaga

Well shiver me timbers, the Blue and Whites travelled to Real Sociedad on Sunday evening and came away with the three points.

Real Madrid too strong for Hércules

No Ronaldo, Pepe or Xabi Alonso in the team so it was up to Benzema to deliver the goods against Hércules, which he did. A goal in each half from Karem Benzema was enough to seal victory and close the gap on Barcelona, at least until Sunday night.

Barcelona go through

Barcelona are through in the Champions League after beating Arsenal 3-1 on the night, 4-3 on aggregate.
