Summer hours at the Foreigners Department
During July and August the Foreigners Department at the Town Hall will be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 13:30.
New opening times for the Foreigners Department
The Foreigners Department at the Town Hall is now only open on Monday and Thursdays from 10:00 to 13:30. Previously it was open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

A total of 4,997 people visited the Foreigners department of the Nerja Town Hall during 2010, an average of 416 per month.

Vélez-Málaga Council is now exploring alternative means of setting up a district Foreigners Department in Torre del Mar after the Central Government finally announced it had decided not to set up such a facility in the town and handed back a property ceded by the Council for this purpose.
Eleven detained in Almeria
Eleven people have so far been arrested in connection with bribery and falsification of documents in and around the Foreigners Department in Almeria. It is alleged that various officials were accepting financial rewards for expediting the paperwork of immigrants requesting residency and other papers.

The Foreigners Department of the Town Hall now has the latest (4th) edition of the book ‘Vivir in Nerja’, available in English, French, German and Spanish. It costs €1 and can be obtained from the Foreigners Department, ground floor of the Town Hall building in calle Carmen, on Mondays to Fridays between 10:00 and 13:30.
