Gabriel Broncano, socialist Mayor of Nerja from 1987 to 1995, is stepping down as president of the Association of Employers (AEN) in January 2011, citing the lack of support of the PP government in solving problems as his main reason. Broncano took up the post in September 2008.

The former Socialist mayor of Nerja, Gabriel Broncano, has been elected chairman of the Associación de Empresarios Nerja (AEN). Broncano, a lawyer by profession, was mayor of Nerja between 1987 and 1995 and succeed Ivan Jullit as president of the local association of businesses.
