Sierra Nevada ski resort to open on November 26th

Snow in the Sierra Nevadas in recent days has ensured that the ski station will almost certainly open as planned on November 26th, with between 25 and 30 cms of snow having accumulated on the middle and upper areas.

Industrial fatality in Atarfe

A 55 year old man died today after falling from the roof of a bakery warehouse on the Los Alamos industrial estate in Atarfe, Granada province. It is thought that part of the roof gave way causing the man to fall about eight metres.

Two arrested in connection with missing Granada teenagers

National Police officers in Granada have arrested two youths in connection with the disappearance on Tuesday of two teenage cousins, both aged thirteen years. The girls were located on Wednesday about four kilometres from Granada city.

Farmers protest in Granada

The Farmer’s Union UPA yesterday handed out 4,000 kilos of tomatoes outside a large supermarket in Granada as a protest against the low prices being set by retail outlets, a policy the farmers describe as ‘abusive’.
