A new draft law includes a provision to make it compulsory for cyclists to wear helmets within city limits, a proposal that has met with disapproval from cycling associations and all of the political parties in the city of Barcelona.
New DGT road safety campaign
Normally, when a motorcyclist is stopped for driving without a helmet, he is given a ticket and then off he goes again, but that could be about to change as from May 15th when a new DGT safety campaign gets underway.
