Sales of homes in February fell by 27.6% when compared to the same month last year, with only 25,717 transactions. the largest declines were in Asturias, down 43,5% and La Rioja and Cantabria, down 42,2%.
House prices continue to fall
House prices in the free sector continue their downward trend, falling by over 6€ during the first quarter of 2013 when compared to the previous quarter. It is the largest decline since 2007, the first year that the National Statistics Institute (INE) began monitoring such statistics.

House prices in Andalucia fell during the third quarter by 12.8% when compared to the same period in 2011, which was below the national average of 15.2%. In Spain as a whole, the price of new houses was down 13.6% and used houses were down by 16.4%, both these figures being records.

The price of houses fell by 14.4% in the second quarter of 2012 compared to the same period last year. the biggest decline since the Housing Price Index (IPV) was introduced in 2007.
