Local Police officers captured an iguana on one of the access roads to El Playazo beach, near the El Chaparil school, after a visitor to the town reported its presence, thinking it was an endangered species.

Members of the Environmental Health Unit of the Local Police captured a 60 centimetre iguana yesterday near the swimming pool of an apartment block in calle Solana. The iguana is being kept in municipal facilities but as yet no-one has come forward to claim it.
