Two boats carrying a total of twenty Algerians, all adult males, have been intercepted off the coast of Almeria after they were spotted by a merchant ship about 45 miles off Carboneras. All the passengers were in good health. The Guardia Civil and Marine Rescue services were assisted by an Italian spotter plane from the Frontex surveillance unit of the EU.
