Two more boats intercepted last night

Two more boats carrying would-be immigrants were intercepted last night off the Andalucia coast. One boat carrying 8 passengers was intercepted off Punta Entinas-Sabinar and another carrying 15 passengers was intercepted 15 miles east of Cabo de Gata.

Interception off the Granada coast

The Marine Rescue vessel ‘Guardamar Caliope’ this afternoon provided a warm welcome to 64 Sub-Saharan travellers on board a dinghy about eight miles from the Isla de Alborán, escorting them safely to the port of Motril.

23 immigrants rescued from sinking dinghy

Twenty-three sub-Saharans, including ten women, three of them pregnant, and eight children, were rescued off the coast of Melilla after their dinghy was punctured and in danger of sinking.

33 illegal immigrants intercepted near Carboneras

A small boat carrying 33 North African males was intercepted on Saturday evening about eight miles from the Mesa Roldán lighthouse in Carboneras, Almeria. The passengers, all of whom had inadvertently forgotten to pack their travel documents, arrived in the port of Almeria at 23:30 under the escort of the ‘Salvamar Algenib’.

Marine Rescue assist drifting travellers

Marine Rescue last night offered assistance to 42 sub-Saharan travellers attempting to sneak into Spain through the back door after their inflatable dinghy ran out of fuel and began drifting about twenty miles south of Adra, Almeria.

Marine Rescue are being kept busy

Twenty North Africans, including one woman, have had their travel plans rearranged after a meeting with the authorities about 60 miles south of Almeria.

More boat people intercepted

Since the early hours of Sunday morning, a total of eight boats have been intercepted  off the coasts of Almeria, Cádiz, Granada, Murcia and the autonomous city of Melilla with 147 illegal immigrants on board, including four babies and 17 women, 7 of whom were pregnant.
