Algerian immigrants intercepted

A boat carrying fourteen Algerian immigrants was intercepted yesterday about 5 miles from Punta Polacra in Almeria province. The immigrants were taken to Puerto de Garrucha where one of them required treatment for hypothermia.

Boat owner arrested for transporting illegal immigrants

The Unit for Immigration and Document Falsification (UCRIF) of the National Police has arrested a man in connection with the transportation to Spain of a group of illegal immigrants who were detained in Almeria a couple of weeks ago.

42 paperless travellers intercepted

At around 21:30 on Thursday night, a suspicious boat was spotted about 35 miles off the Granada coast and Maritime Rescue officers proceeded to intercept.

Two men in a toy boat

Two North Africans have been rescued this morning from their inflatable toy boat which was drifting aimlessly. The two, who had inadvertently forgotten to take any documentation with them, were in good health and did not require medical assistance.

Marine Rescue and Guardia Civil officers have rescued 49 Sub-Saharan immigrants whose boat was adrift in the Straits of Gibraltar.

5 pregnant women amongst 39 illegal immigrants

A boat carrying 39 illegal immigrants was intercepted early this morning off the Granada coast. Thirteen of those on board were women, of whom five were in an advanced state of pregnancy.
