Fresh wave of illegal immigrants

The improvement in the weather has resulted in a number of illegal immigrants making the crossing to Spain in the past few days.

Illegal immigrants intercepted off Carboneras

The Marine Rescue service yesterday intercepted two boats carrying a total of 27 illegal immigrants. The boats were about five miles off Carboneras, opposite Cabo de Gata. All the immigrants were said to be in good health.

Boat people still arriving despite the weather

Eighteen illegal immigrants were intercepted and rescued yesterday about 27 miles southeast of Cabo de Gata, Almeria after their skiff was spotted by the Marine Rescue Service.

Two boats carrying illegal immigrants were spotted yesterday off Cabo de Gata, one of them being intercepted by the Marine Rescue Service.

An open boat carrying twenty illegal immigrants was intercepted yesterday by the Marine Rescue Service off Cabo de Gato, Almería, and the occupants were escorted to Almería port for processing.

Good weather for boats

The good weather is encouraging illegal immigrants to make the often perilous journey across the Mediterranean in search of economic gain. Perhaps they haven’t heard that Andalucia has 25% unemployment.

The Junta assumes guardianship

The Junta de Andalucía has assumed the guardianship of ten children aged between 15 years and 17 years who were amongst 128 North Africans who arrived off the coast of Cabo de Gata, Almería, in the past 48 hours.
