At least 14 illegal immigrants are known to have died on their journey to Spain after a cayuco containing a number of corpses was intercepted about two miles south of Gran Canaria.

A Guardia Civil patrol escorted a boat carrying 45 illegal immigrants to port after it had been spotted a few miles off the coast of Barbate, Cádiz. There were 34 men and 11 women on board, all of whom had inadvertantly forgotten to bring any sort of documentation with them.
Haul of immigrants and hashish
A total of 19 illegal immigrants, including a young girl, were intercepted in the early hours of this morning along the Cádiz coast. One of the boats was also carrying 173 kilos of hashish. They are the ‘high’ seas after all.

A boat carrying 60 illegal immigrants has been intercepted off the Tenerife coast. Up to seven of those on board, all sub-Saharans, are thought to be minors.

Thirty-four North African immigrants, including one woman, were intercepted yesterday about 25 miles south of Motril. All are said to be in good health apart from a few bruises here and there.
Boat carrying 3 illegals intercepted off Tarifa
A boat carrying three illegal immigrants was intercepted yesterday off the coast of Tarifa. The boat was first spotted early in the evening by a ferry before being intercepted by the authorities. All three, of sub-Saharan origin, are said to be in good health and are now in the hands of the authorities in Tarifa awaiting repatriation.
