Ronda Council is proposing to carry out repairs and improvements to the Parque de la Alameda del Tajo using a €250,000 grant from the provincial authority, the project to start after the summer.
Improvements at Maro beach
The Council is carrying out improvement work to Maro beach including the erection of two huts to store materials relating to the two concessions at the beach, namely canoes and sunbeds.
Car park to close for two to three weeks as from Monday
The free car parking area on the site of the proposed Health Centre will be closed from Monday November 18th due to the commencement of improvement works.
Improvements to access roads to wineries
Ronda Council has started work on improving the access roads to many of the wineries, a project valued at €150,000.
Council requests improvements to schools in the municipality
Nerja Council has launched several initiatives in support of their numerous requests to the provincial and regional authorities for improvements to existing schools or the building of new schools in the municipality.
Improvements to sports facilities in Ronda
Ronda Council has invested €250,000, of which fifty percent was funded by the Junta de Andalucia, in improvements to sporting facilities in the town. The works being finalised date back to 2009, so are a little behind schedule.
Improvements to IES Gerald Brenan in Alhaurín de la Torre
The Ministry of Education of the Junta de Andalucia, through the Public Entity for Infrastructure and Educational Services in Andalucia (ISE Andalucia), has put out to tender a contract for improvements to the IES Gerald Brenan in Alhaurín de la Torre.
Improvements to play areas
The Council is continuing to improve or repair the various play areas in the town, the latest to undergo a makeover being those in calle Antonio Ferrandis ‘Chanquete’ (next to the instituto El Chaparil) and in avenida de Pescia (near the Ambulatorio). The objective is to get all the play areas in the municipality up to a high standard.
Improvements to rural roads in Archidona
During the next 40 days, work will be carried out on a number of rural roads in Archidona between Las Huertas del Río and Salinas. The project includes cleaning, improvements to the margins and removing rubbish and rubble.
Nerja Caves Foundation aiming to attract more visitors to the Caves
The Nerja Caves Foundation is undertaking a number of measures to halt the decline in visitor numbers to the Caves, something which should have been done a long time ago according to the new manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ruiz.
