Valladolid 2-2 Málaga

A rare Friday night kick-off saw Málaga draw 2-2 at Valladolid. The Blue and Whites took the lead through Santa Cruz and they stayed in front until the second half. After the break, however, Javi Guerra and Osono found the net to put the home side in front but Pawlowski saved the day for Málaga.

Midweek wins for the top three

A round of midweek matches in La Liga and Málaga moved up the table after a 2-0 win over Almeria, Tissone and Portillo the scorers.

Real Madrid 4-1 Getafe

Gareth Bale was due to make his home debut for Real Madrid against Getafe on Sunday evening but had to be replaced two minutes before the start after injuring himself during the warm-up!

Barcelona maintain 100% start

Baecelona maintained their 100% start to the season with a 4-0 win against Rayo Vallecano, Pedro Rodriguez helping himself to a hat-trick and Cesc Fabregas adding another.

Málaga 5-0 Rayo Vallecano

Just as I was thinking that Málaga players should be equipped with SatNav to help them find the goal they go and put five past Rayo Vallecano. A hat-trick for El Hamdaoui and one each for Eliseu and Portillo did the damage and lift the Blue and Whites to mid-table.

Atlético go top

The world’s most expensive player, like his predecessor and team-mate, scored on his debut for Real Madrid, although it took Gareth Bale three minutes longer to find the net than was the case with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona still leading the way

Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick as Barcelona beat Valencia 3-2 at the weekend to stay top of La Liga, Postiga replying for Valencia. All the goals came in the first half of the match.

Málaga 0-1 Barcelona

Adriano scored the only goal of the game as Barcelona maintained a 100% winning start to the season with a 1-0 win over Málaga, who’s start has been exactly the opposite.

Good start by Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao and Villareal share top spot after Saturday’s round of La Liga matches. Athletic were 2-0 winners over Osasuna through an own goal from Arribas and a proper goal by de Marcos.

Real Madrid leave it late against Betis

A late winner from Isco saw Real Madrid sneak past Betis on Sunday night. Molina gave Betis an early lead before Benzema equalised midway through the first half and Isco headed home in the 86th minute.
