Barcelona’s lead at the top of La Liga is down to five points after they were held to a draw at Sevilla. Bojan, on as a substitute, gave Barca the lead just before half time but this was cancelled out by a goal from Jesús Navas at the beginning of the second half.
Real Sociedad 0-2 Málaga
Well shiver me timbers, the Blue and Whites travelled to Real Sociedad on Sunday evening and came away with the three points.
Real Madrid too strong for Hércules
No Ronaldo, Pepe or Xabi Alonso in the team so it was up to Benzema to deliver the goods against Hércules, which he did. A goal in each half from Karem Benzema was enough to seal victory and close the gap on Barcelona, at least until Sunday night.
Oh dear, oh dear
A ninetieth minute goal from Sergio condemned Málaga to another defeat, 0-1 at the hands of Osasuna, and they are back to the bottom. The only consolation is that the teams above them are not winning and pulling away, so there’s still a slim hope of survival.
Barcelona 1-0 Zaragoza
A busy week in La Liga but Barcelona are keeping their noses in front, this time beating Zaragoza by a single goal. Keita was the man who gave victory to the Catalans, scoring at the end of the first half after getting on the end of a cross from Lionel Messi.
Real Madrid 7-0 Málaga
Málaga travelled to Real Madrid on Thursday evening and were only undone by a hat-trick from Ronaldo, two from Benzema and one each for Di Maria and Marcelo.
Valencia 0-1 Barcelona
A round of midweek matches in La Liga with Barcelona marching on towards the title with a hard fought 0-1 win at Valencia, a second half goal from who else but Messi deciding the match.
Málaga 3-1 Almeria
The Blue and Whites came from a goal down to beat fellow strugglers Almeria 3-1 at La Rosaleda last night, moving up to the dizzy heights of penultimate place in La Liga.
