The annual ‘Tomatina’ festival took place on Wednesday in the town of Buñol, Valencia, with 20,000 people hurling over-ripe tomatoes at each other for an hour before being hosed down, although this year they dad to pay.

Around 40,000 people attended the ‘La Tomatina’ (tomato fight) in Buñol yesterday and in the one hour managed to hurl 120,000 kilos of tomatoes at each other. Those attending came from as far afield as Japan and the USA.
