There are optimistic mutterings that the approval yesterday of the partial adaptation of the PGOU (General Plan) to the LOUA (Urban Development Act of Andalucia) will pave the way for the reclassification of the land ceded for a new Health Centre and, as a consequence, reignite the project.

The Councillor for Urban Planning, Inocencia Quintero, has announced that the document to partially adapt the local PGOU (General Plan) to conform to the LOUA (Town Planning Act of Andalucia) has now been referred to the Interdepartmental Committee on Urban Planning and Assessment of the Junta de Andalucia for a mandatory report before its adoption by the Council plenary session.
Frigiliana LOUA amendment to allow the construction of VPO housing
The Junta de Andalucia has given the green light to a partial amendment to the LOUA (Urban Planning Act) through the Rules of Subsidiary Planning for Frigiliana which will allow land to be made available for the building of 49 VPO (subsidised) houses. The Council expects to approve the amendment in April.

Frigiliana Council is working on its first Plan General de Ordenación Urbana (PGOU), agreed with the Junta de Andalucía to ensure that there is no repeat of what happened in 2007 when the first draft was rejected.
