Police have detained the eldest son of Maria Estela Espinosa Ruiz, the woman who was found dead yesterday, along with her six month old son, at her home in Retiro, Madrid.

In Madrid, firefighters were called to a house in calle Luis Mitjans in the Retiro district at around 16:15 on Tuesday after receiving reports of a large amount of smoke emanating from the building.
AVE rail link hit by floods
Storms in the early evening of Monday have disrupted the AVE high-speed rail link Madrid-Sevilla-Málaga. Hailstones and floods struck the south of Madrid and much of Toledo province, causing problems in La Sagra which in turn caused the suspension of the AVE high-speed rail link.

A fire in Collado Mediano, Madrid, has been elevated to ‘level 2’ and two urbanisations in the area, Parque Collado and Reojo del Roble have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Investigation into the death of baby Rayán
A full investigation is being carried out into the death of baby Rayán at the Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid. Rayán was delivered by Caesarean section shortly before his mother died from Influenza A, the first such fatality in Spain.
