A 19th minute goal from Isco gave the Blue and Whites a great start against Real Sociedad at La Rosaleda but it all finished in a 1-1 draw after Prieto equalised just after the restart. Málaga remain in fourth place, two points behind Valencia who were hammered by Espanyol.

Málaga up to third in La Liga

Goals from Isco, Cazorla and van Nistelrooy gave Málaga a 3-0 win over Racing Santander and moves them into third place in La Liga, one point ahead of Valencia. Now comes the hard part, holding on to the position for automatic qualification for the Champions League.

World Paddle Tennis Championships

Carolina Navarro, from Málaga, and Cecilia Reiter combined to win the World Paddle Tennis Championships after overcoming LLagunio and Amatriain in the final held at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on Sunday.

Málaga 4-2 Rayo Vallecano

Málaga completed an impressive and deserved 4-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda on Thursday evening, although they had to rally from going down to an early penalty.

Mobile phones and driving

A total of nearly 17,000 vehicles were checked in Málaga province during the recent DGT crackdown on the use of mobile phones while driving, the campaign being carried out between March 5th and March 18th.

Man stabbed to death in Málaga

A 29 year old man died from stab wounds on Monday evening after a fight at a house in Plaza de La Biznaga in Málaga. The incident occurred at around 19:00. Another man, who suffered a cut to the ear, has been arrested.

Madrid 1-1 Málaga

A last minute strike from Cazorla, a beautifully hit free kick, earned Málaga a draw at the Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, cancelling out Benzema’s first half goal. Madrid are now only eight points clear at the top of La Liga and will be disappointed with the score considering their general domination of the match.
