A fire which broke out at 23:20 on Saturday evening in Pujerra (Málaga) is still burning and has so far destroyed 100 hectares of pine, oak and scrub land.
Lucky escape for young boy
Police in the Portada Alta district of Málaga have arrested a man who left a four year old child on his own. The child had to be rescued after fire broke out in the home.

Problems in the olive oil sector
The consumption of olive oil is up, this year’s harvest is expected to exceed 63,000 tons in Málaga province, up 9,500 tons on last season, but the sector has made a loss of €11 million compared to last season as the price per kilo has fallen.

Three injured in street fight in Málaga
The youths, aged 16, 21 and 25 years, were injured early on Saturday morning during a fight between two groups in avenida Isaac Peral, Málaga city.
Human bones found at quarry in Churriana
Police in Málaga are investigating the discovery of human bones at a quarry in calle Cañada de Ceuta in Churriana. Also found was documentation belonging to a woman.
Málaga 0-1 Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey
Real Madrid are through to a probable quarter-final meeting with arch-rivals Barcelona after a 0-1 win over Málaga. The only goal of the match came 20 minutes before the end when Málaga keeper Caballero let an innocuous shot from substitute Benzema through his hands. Real won the first leg 3-2.
Musical scores found amongst notarised documents
Researchers and archivists working at the Provincial Historical Archive in Málaga made the surprise discovery of some XVIII century musical scores sealed within notarised documents.
