The Department of Coasts is planning to initiate the ‘draft technical study’ phase of proceedings relating to the feasibility of placing submerged breakwaters along the Marbella coast to permanently resolve the problem of beach erosion during bad weather.
Marbella road works
Marbella Council has announced that, as from Monday, there will be traffic restrictions in calle Gabriel Celaya and avenida Valle Inclán due to works being carried out on the sewage system in the area. The restrictions will be in place for at least fifteen days.

Three Colombians sentenced to prison for a crime against the public health
Three Colombians have each been sentenced to 9 years in prison and fined €1 million for a crime against public health, namely cocaine trafficking. The detentions took place in July 2006 when a car with two occupants was stopped at a checkpoint near Estepona. Inside the car police found one kilo of cocaine.
Julian Muñoz now a ‘third grade’ prisoner
The former mayor of Marbella, Julian Muñoz, walked out of prison yesterday evening after being granted ‘third grade’ status. The change in status means Muñoz, one of several former mayors and officials involved in the ´Malaya’ corruption scandal, can leave the prison each morning and only has to return at night from Monday to Thursday.
Marbella could lose its ‘verbenas’
