The PP president in Málaga, Elías Bendodo, has called upon the Junta de Andalucia to include provision in the 2014 budget to begin the first phase of work on the planned marina for the eastern Axarquia to be located between Nerja and Torrox.

The Andalucia Public Ports Agency, APPA, has decided to put on hold any plans for a marina in the Axarquia and to couple such a project to the new Axarquia Costa del Sol Oriental Ports Master Plan for Andalucia 2014-2020 which will analyse the need to implement such an infrastructure.

The Public Ports Authority of Andalucia, a dependency of the Ministry of Public Works of the Junta de Andalucia, has apparently completed the draft project for the construction of a new marina in Torrox and is in the process of completing the environmental impact report.
