The CCOO and UGT unions have organised around 80 rallies and protests all over the country for May Day, the main event being in Madrid, starting at Plaza de Neptuno and finishing with speeches at Puerta de Sol.
Weekend road fatalities
Fourteen people died and two others were seriously inured on the roads in Spain over the May Day ‘puente’ weekend from 15:00 on Friday to 20:00 on Monday. There were three fatalities on the roads in Andalucia.
