Nerja Donkey Sanctuary Needs Your Help!
From the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary: Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is in desperate need of funds. In the winter months the Sanctuary is always a bit quiet but this year has been the hardest yet. We just scraped through November with help from a campaign on Facebook and the website, and the wonderful donations of food made through horse1.
Poinsettias being planted around town
This week will see 1,500 Poinsettias around town, most notably on the Balcón de Europa, in calle Pintada and on major roundabouts. The Councillor for Parks and Gardens has once again requested that people just observe the plants in calle Pintada and not remove, damage or vandalise them as has occurred for the past few years.
H20 holiday closure
Bar H20 on Burriana beach is closed this week for well-deserved holidays, reopening again at 15:00 on Saturday December 14th.
Restaurant Sollun closed for holidays
Restaurant Sollun, calle Pintada 23, Nerja, is now closed for holidays until March 10th 2014.

The Christmas lights are up and turned on all over town.
Supersol open this coming Sunday…
The Supersol supermarket at the junction of calle Antonio Ferrandis ‘Chanquete’ and calle San Miguel at the western end of town will be open on Sunday December 8th from 09:00 to 22:00.
Let there be lights…
The Christmas lights are up in the centre of town, in calle Pintada and calle La Cruz. Anyone else think they look like the bases of beds adorned with a string of lights? It was a comment I heard this evening and I would have to agree, it was my first thought too. Colourful, though.
Students attend Constitution Day lecture
One of the events to celebrate Constitution Day on December 6th was held yesterday at the Nerja Cultural Centre where pupils from the Instituto El Chaparil attended a lecture by the provincial delegate Patricia Navarro.
More Christmas lights this year
The president of the Asociación Centro Comercial Abierto de Nerja, Enrique López Cuneca, and the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, have signed an agreement which will allow more Christmas lights to put up at various points around the town.
