The Council has announced the winners of the first Essay Competition on the Spanish Constitution, part of the Constitution Day celebrations on December 6th.

For the third consecutive year, the Nerja Basketball Club has organised the campus entitled ‘Tu navidad deportiva’ – Your sporting Christmas – which will take place on December 23rd, 24th, 26 and 27th.

The mouth of the rio Chillar has been nicely cleared of debris and the vegetation tidied up, or removed. Shame they don’t continue for the whole length of the urban section as it isn’t that long a stretch and the sight of old chairs, bottles, bin bags and wheel hubs don’t really fit with the general ‘image’ the authorities are …
Out and About December 1st 2013…
The first Christmas lights started to go up on Sunday at around lunchtime, with Plaza Cavana the first on the agenda this year. Always nice to have the lights, makes the centre look quite festive once they are all up and running
Council to initiate proceedings relating to the dumping of soil near the Eagle Aqueduct
Nerja Council is set to take disciplinary action against an individual who has been dumping soil next to the Eagle Aqueduct, apparently to build an access road to his nearby farm. A mound of debris has built up on the north side of the aqueduct and has even covered one of the overflows.
Roadworks update November 30th 2013…
The works continue in avenida Castila Perez but there is currently no disruption to traffic. Presumably there will be another short break in circulation when the road is eventually resurfaced.
