Tender process open for three apiaries

From now and for the next twenty days, the tender period is open for bids on three apiaries located in the areas of Pinarillo, Barranco Sierpes and Mazuelas.

Fifty participants in the III Rio Chillar Clean-up

Around fifty people of all ages participated in the III Rio Chillar Clean-up on Sunday, an initiative organised by the Civil Protection. The volunteers gathered up some thirty bags of rubbish along two pre-planned routes along the riverbed.

End of extra rubbish collections in the centre of town

With the end of the main summer tourist season comes the end of the extra collections of organic rubbish in the central streets calle Diputación, calle Carmen,  calle Puerta del Mar, calle Pintada, calle La Cruz and calle Angustias. The extra collections finished on Friday September 13th, having begun on July 2nd 2013.

Change of shape…

Interesting the way Torrecilla beach totally changes shape periodically. From wide at the Plaza de los Cangrejos end to narrow at the watchtower end, it is now completely the opposite.

New season of Active Ageing starts on Monday

The new season of Active Ageing for seniors begins on Monday September 16th and has been expanded to five groups to allow more people to benefit from this therapeutic exercise. The activities, which take place at the Municipal Swimming Pool, take place under the supervision of monitors.

Fun and education for the kids

The Málaga Provincial Council, with the collaboration of Nerja Council, has organised a camp for children aged between 9 years and 12 years which will take place from September 27thj to 29th and will include a number of activities and cultural excursions.

Just a rumour…

It is rumoured that one of the reasons the circus has not been able to put on any shows, and is losing thousands of euros a day, is that the Councillor who needs to sign-off on the requested ‘missing’ certificate is on vacation…

Rural hostel could open later this month

At the beginning of May it was announced that the rural hostel at Fuente del Esparto in the Natural Park was expected to open within a few weeks once the contractor took possession and installed the necessary equipment.

It would be nice if…

Two things would be nice. One: If people would stop chucking their rubbish in the river, and Two, given that number one is probably a hopeless dream, if it was cleaned on a regular basis.
