Not so many people on Torrecilla beach on Wednesday, but only because the sea had rolled in á la Fiesta Blanca and reclaimed much of the sand. Total change of shape for the beach and a small ridge had formed, as it does from time to time. The area that remained was quite packed.
Municipal assistance for student transport
The registration period is now open for students who want to apply for transportation assistance for the academic year 2013/14. The municipal assistance is for students who use the bus as a regular means to access academic centres outside the town.
Change of address for the Municipal Information Centre for Women
The Municipal Information Centre for Women has moved to new offices in the Giner de los Rios Centre in calle Diputación.
Homemade Desserts Contest
The registration period is now open for anyone wishing to enter the I Barriada de Las Protegidas Homemade Desserts Contest with the competition starting at 13:30 and the awards being made at around 19:30 on September 21st in the Plaza de Andalucia.
Pilgrim arrives in Gibraltar
Local resident Justo Márquez, who set off on Thursday on his 140 kilometre walk from Málaga to Gibraltar to call for an end to the conflict surrounding the Rock, arrived at his destination, complete with cross, on Sunday afternoon.

The Provincial Fire Consortium has started work on improvements to the temporary Fire Station located near the Burriana roundabout, the project having a budget of €72,700.

The Neighbourhood Association of the Barriada de Las Protegidas – the area around Plaza de Andalucia – has organised a ‘Fachadas y Casas Puertas’ – Facades and House Doors -competition as part of the Veladilla de San Miguel celebrations to be held on September 19th 2013.

The Civil Protection is warning hikers not to walk the rio Chillar, particularly to Los Cahorros, on Thursday August 29th due to the forecast of heavy rains.
