Fiesta Fiasco

The Fiesta Blanca in Nerja had a late change of venue this year, Torrecilla beach being preferred to the regular El Salon beach as the location for this summer celebration.

Tapas at Julie’s Place

Tucked away in the corner of the Plaza Balcón de Europa in the centre of Nerja is Julie’s Place, a small cafe-bar which opened a couple of months ago. It is run by Oscar, a Cuban, and his wife Julie and offers, amongst other things, quite a wide variety of veggie dishes and tapas.

Marbella Beach Volleyball Tournament

Teams from Nerja produced some excellent results at the Marbella Beach Volleyball Tournament held at the weekend, winning in three categories.

Out and About, August 11th 2013…

Quite a warm one today. The rio Chillar is very up and down at the moment. One day dry, next day flowing, then back to a trickle. Someone must be messing around with the taps.

Out and About, August 8th 2013…

The town is certainly not packed, considering it is August, but no doubt when the the official figures come out they will show record numbers of visitors. There are a lot of visitors, but nothing like in previous years.

Improvements to the electricity supply

The power company Endesa is carrying out improvement works on eight medium voltage power lines of the Nerja substation, a project costing €45,000 which will result in improved service and better, more modern security for around 22,500 local residents.

Friday Night Fever menu

The next Friday Night Fever at Restaurante First is on August 23rd and the menu for the evening is as follows:
