Calle El Barrio now has seven palm trees adorning one side of the road, nice touch. Shouldn’t be long now before it’s finished.
Active Ageing programme to continue
The Active Ageing programme, which began last September, has ended for this season. Around 120 seniors, divided into four groups, attended the twice-weekly sessions in the municipal swimming pool. A new season will begin on September 15th 2013 and the deadline for applications is July 15th.
Closed and open…
Mena in calle El Barrio is closed from July 1st to July 6th. The Supersol at the western end of town is once again open after extensive renovations and intensive Feng Shui. Good luck finding anything!
Summer Camp 2013
Monday July 1st sees the start of the Summer Camp 2013, an initiative by the Nerja Basketball Club and aimed at children aged between 4 years and 15 years.
Proposal for social-cultural facility in calle Animas
The Council is hoping to push through a motion for a change to the PGOU (General Plan) relating to numbers 15 and 15A in calle Animas, two privately owned properties, which they would like to convert into a social-cultural facility.
Out and About June 25th 2013…
It was surprisingly quiet, even for a Tuesday, at Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos, although Mirasol and Bamboo did have a reasonable number of people.
Roadworks nearing completion…
Work in calle El Barrio looks as if it is nearing completion and if finished within the next couple of weeks it could be within the scheduled four month completion period.

What Blue Flag?…
After all the fuss, photo opportunity and, presumably, attendance allowances for the assembled local dignitaries with the raising of the Blue Flags the other day, the flags were conspicuous by their absence today.
