The Council has approved a motion to once again urge the Provincial Government to become financially involved in the urbanisation of the access road to the proposed new fire station – for which no funding has been forthcoming and as a result it has been proposed to expand the temporary fire station.
Council to sign agreements with consumer associations
The Council has approved the signing of agreements with three consumer associations for 2013, these being the Association of Consumers and Housewives Al-Andalus, the Association of Consumers in Action Facua-Málaga and the Consumers Union of Malaga-UCE.
A Saloon perhaps?…
If the sign being carried surreptitiously into the premises at lunchtime is anything to go by, the new establishment opposite El Bosque in avenida Castilla Perez (formerly Brazilian, Indian and Chinese restaurants at one time or another) is going to be a Saloon. Could be nice and different if this is the case.
Lunchtime gambas at La Marina
Stopped off in La Marina in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, for a quick tapas, excellent as usual. I had a large plate of gambas and a beer, good value at €1.40. Always a popular haunt at lunchtimes and one of the best fish restaurants in town.
San Isidro 2013
The wonderful, colourful and vibrant San Isidro celebrations, considered by many to be one of the best celebrations on the festive calendar, begin on Tuesday evening, May 14th, and continue throughout Wednesday, May 15th.
Results of the XIV Short Story Contest
This past weekend saw the presentation of prizes for the XIV Short Story Contest organised by the association ‘The Adventure of Writing’. The theme this year was ‘romantic stories’.
Fourteen trophies for Nerja swimmers
Swimmers from the Nerja Swimming School picked up 14 trophies at the weekend during the finals of the Winter Swimming Circuit held in Alhaurín El Grande. The team achieved second place overall in the championships.
Two more students working at the Town Hall
Two students from the IES Chaparil have joined the six from IES Sierra Amijara in carrying out the work experience part of their studies at the Town Hall. The first six students began their training on Monday.
Crossing the rio Seco
The Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García, has announced that once the technical reports have been finalised, the licence for the construction of three fords or bridges across the rio Seco will be issued to the public company Tragsa.
