Domingo de Ramos – Palm Sunday – 2013

A few spots of rain at the start of proceedings but nothing to dampen the spirits of the faithful for the first major event of Easter Week (Semana Santa – Holy Week), the Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos) procession from La Ermita de Ntra.Sra. de las Angustias in Plaza de la Ermita to the iglesia El Salvador on the Balcón …

Tapas at Mesón Asador de Castilla

Lunchtime tapas at Mesón Asador de Castilla in calle Málaga, Nerja, and a really delightful ‘Bacalao con huevo’ – cod with egg. Good portions, good atmosphere and great food but with tapas no longer included with drinks, it makes it €2.50 for a small beer and tapa and a bit on the expensive side for more than one.

Growth industry…

It is perhaps time to rename the road under the Town Hall as ‘Tourist Office Alley’. There are still a few spare offices for provincial, regional and national tourist information offices. Museum and Nerja Caves Tourist Information Office

La Biznaga open again

La Biznaga on the Balcón de Europa is open again after a long winter break.

Tapas at Jaime

Jaime in calle Jaén is a nice, small friendly bar with a small street terrace. As a tapa I chose ‘higado’ (liver), a simple dish but not always the easiest to get right. This one was pretty good, nice texture and a very nice sauce. And a good portion. A beer and a tapa, €1.40.

Coastline Radio back on air…

Coastline Radio, which went off air a couple of weeks ago at the request of the Junta de Andalucia, is back on air again but on a new frequency of 92.6 FM.
