The Al Istanbul restaurant halfway up calle Cristo has gone and is now Crepe Bréton, Bar Caeli in calle Rodrigues Acosta is closed and is in the process of being refurbished, work is going on in the former Rafiki’s Bar in calle Fray Junipero Serra and L’Essence in calle Los Huertos has closed after only a relatively short time in existence.

The roadworks in calle Trancos are in full swing, although there wasn’t much activity this morning.
Gambas at La Marina
La Marina in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, remains one of the best fish tapas bars in town, hence it is usually packed at several times during the day.
More illegal settlements dismantled
The authorities have dismantled another three illegal settlements near the Aqueduct where the occupants, up to twenty people, had even installed a pipe to get water from the aqueduct.
Nerja to receive €135,000 for improvements to beach equipment
Nerja is set to receive €135,000 from the Málaga Provincial Council and the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol-Axarquia for the improvement of beach equipment.

Some pretty hefty pruning going on with the bushes on the slope down to El Playazo/El Chucho beaches and a bit of weeding being carried out in the riverbed.
Council requests clean-up of riverbeds to prevent possible flooding
The Council is once more requesting the Junta de Andalucia to carry out urgent cleaning work along the rio Seco and rio Chillar in Nerja in order to prevent any problems should heavy rains occur.
