Cafe El Barrio in calle El Barrio, Nerja, remains a little gem. A small bar, nice terrace and a good selection of tapas and a beer and a tapa still €1.50.
Ninfas open for business
Ninfas, the new Italian cafe/restaurant in Plaza la Marina, Nerja, is now open for business. It is a reasonable size inside, has entrances on Plaza La Marina and calle Chaparil and has a small terrace in the square.
Cafe Paris
The Cafe Paris on calle Chaparil, a few doors down from the Hotel Bajamar, is now open for business. Spacious inside and a small street terrace.
Jobs and noise…
There is a notice on the door of the former Saloon in avenida Castilla Perez – opposite El Bosque at the junction of calle Fray Junipero Serra – asking for waiters, waitresses and kitchen staff, so presumably something new will be opening there in the not too distant future.

Debris from San Juan
The Councillor for Beaches has reported that hundreds of nails have been collected from El Playazo beach by the municipal cleaning department following the Noche de San Juan celebrations, the result of anti-social behaviour according to the Councillor.
Academic Merit Award 2014
Students from the IES Chaparil and IES Sierra Almijara achieving the ‘best grades’ this current academic year have been rewarded with a diploma – Academic Merit Award – and a trip to the Terra Mítica theme park in Valencia, paid for by the municipality.
La Noria Summer Camp
The annual Summer Camp in La Noria, Málaga, for students of the Municipal Schools of Music and Dance takes place from July 15th to 17th and is open to all students in the province, including Nerja.
