Exercise for the elderly during the summer

This year the Council is going to hold gymnastics workshops at the beach for senior citizens, these activities taking place under the supervision of sports instructor.

Collection of non-organic waste in the centre of Nerja

Startin on Monday June 16th 2014 there will be extra collections of non-organic waste – cardboard, paper, plastics – in the central streets of Nerja, namely calle Diputación, calle Carmen, calle Puerta del Mar, calle Pintada, calle La Cruz and calle Angustias.

New lighting for Torrecilla beach

The Council is going to improve the lighting at Torrecilla beach, replacing the existing 43 units for ones which are more aesthetically pleasing and use about half the energy of the current setup.

Silver and bronze for Nerja swimmers

A total of 384 swimmers from 23 Andalucian clubs took part in the VI Tomás García Tamudio Memorial Trophy in Málaga and there were medals for two Nerja swimmers.

Roundabouts being cleaned up for summer

The Parks and Gardens Department is busy carrying out work on the roundabouts in Nerja, starting with those at the entrances to the town, to make them look impressive for the influx of summer visitors.

Bronze medal for beach volleyballers

The Nerja 1 beach volleyball team won a bronze medal during the Andalucia Championships held at the weekend in Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz province.
