Success for young female volleyballers

A total of 39 male and 15 female teams from all over Málaga province took part in the Cadet Beach Volleyball Championships 2×2 on Burriana beach at the weekend, a qualifying tournament for the Andalucia Championships to be held in Cádiz from June 6th to 8th 2014.

Out and About June 1st 2014…

Clear skies just before the thunderstorm and quite a few people out and about early doors, particularly walkers and joggers down by the rio Chillar.

Thunderstorm…

Overnight rain, then it cleared up nicely early(ish) in the morning to prompt all the walkers and joggers and then a thunderstorm! Lovely lightning display.

Visitors from Argentina

Representatives of the Federation of Open Shopping Centres, mayors, businessmen and heads of various institutions in Argentina have been on a junket to Nerja to see the ‘Centro Comercial Abierto’ or ‘Nerja Centro’ as it is more commonly known.

Graffiti removed…

Work has started on the installation of ornamental and special lighting at the back of Calahonda beach and the interesting piece of graffiti, a sort of Ché Chimp’, which appeared a couple of weeks ago has been painted over.

Chick peas and wine

Had a rather nice chick pea concoction at Torero at the junction of calle Antonio Millón and calle Chaparil, Nerja, washed down with a glass of Frigiliana wine. The bullfighting theme of the bar will not be to everyone’s taste, of course, but at least the TV was showing the bulls winning for a change. It was €2 for wine and tapas.

No more Pisces

The Pisces fish and chip restaurant in calle El Barrio, Nerja, has closed just five months after its grand opening on December 6th 2013.

Great results for the Nerja Athletics Club

The youngsters of the Nerja Athletics Club put in a great performance at the weekend, winning in four of the six categories in the Andalucia Club Championships.
