The Norwegian painter Otto Solli has presented the Taller de la Amistad with €1,600 from the sale of works during his exhibition at the Municipal Exhibition Hall in calle Cristo.

Bar Alameda in calle Jaén, Nerja, has reopened yet again. Maybe it should be called Bar YoYo. Meanwhile, Sol y Mar in Plaza La Marina has closed and is up for sale.

Moin Moin is a fairly new German bakery in calle Dr Fleming (small pedestrian street linking avenida Castilla Perez and calle Málaga) with a small cafeteria section.
Narixa to become bilingual
Next year, the Narixa public school will be officially converted into a bilingual centre of learning. All students at the facility will have the opportunity to learn a second, or even third language.

Local Police officer arrested
On Wednesday morning, Guardia Civil officers from Málaga arrived in town to arrest a member of the Nerja Local Police on charges of alleged drug trafficking, bribery, money laundering and collaboration with an organized crime gang. After being interviewed the officer was released.
Pinocchio has moved temporarily
Due to the renovation of the building, the Pinocchio Italian restaurant has taken over the ground floor of the California restaurant a little further along calle Cristo, Nerja. It even has a puppet hanging on the wall.
Medals for Nerja’s young swimmers
At the XXII Campeonato de Andalucía de Natación Alevín de Invierno held in Jaén at the weekend, local Municipal Swimming Club members Lourdes María Herrero Centurión and Paola González Martín claimed a total of ten medals between them.
