Heliport for Nerja

The Council has approved the transfer of land for the construction of a heliport in Nerja by the public company for Emergency Health in Andalucia.

Pata Negra in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, is currently undergoing an extensive interior renovation, Pequeña Cibeles in calle Cristo is up for sale, although still open, the Coach and Horses, which reopens at the beginning of March, is looking for a chef and the Ichibata teppanyaki restaurant in calle Cristo should be opening fairly soon.

Council to build two new petanca courts

The Council and the Asociación Hispano Nórdica have reached an agreement for the construction of two more petanca courts near the Municipal Sports Centre due to the popularity of the activity amongst Nordic residents.

Plan to develop El Playazo to be approved

The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has announced that the next full Council meeting will see the approval of a draft expedient relating to the land between the rio Chillar and rio Seco and Camino de Enmedio, which will reclassify the land, an area of 1,131,051 square metres, as zoned and suitable for development.

Oscar Jiménez wins local Tennis League

The local Tennis League came to a close at the weekend and in the final championship matches, Oscar Jiménez end as champion with Gonzalo in second, Miguel Ponce in third and Glen in fourth place.

Two rescues in two days

On Monday, two hikers had to be rescued after becoming lost while walking along the rio Chillar in Nerja.
