The latest opinion poll conducted by Demoscopia shows the PSOE ahead with 20.7% of the votes, five points ahead of the ruling PP and six ahead of the new party Podemos.
Opinion polls put Mariano Rajoy way ahead
The latest opinion polls commissioned by El Pais and El Mundo show that, if the election were held today, the PP of Mariano Rajoy would secure between 190 and 196 seats and the PSOE of Alfredo Peréz Rubalcaba would get between 115 and 120 seats.
Popularity stakes
The first opinion polls since Prime Minister Zapatero announced his intention to step down at the next election indicate that the gap between the PP and the PSOE has virtually halved.
