Having decided that today was ‘paella day’, I headed off to Burriana beach. I decided to try the paella at Merendero Moreno, and for two reasons: one, I haven’t had paella there before and two, more importantly, it was the only place with a table free. Should have been a clue!
Paella at José Cruz
Lunch at Merendero José Cruz on Burriana beach today, so just had to try their paella having already sampled those at Ayo’s and La Barca on a number of occasions.
Paella at La Barca
Had a very nice paella on Saturday at La Barca on Burriana beach, Nerja, thoroughly enjoyed it. Price is €6.50 and it was laced with mussels, clams, prawns, calamares and bits of chicken. Very good value.
Tapas at Meson de Julio
I like to see the hams hanging in the bars and these are on display in Meson de Julio in calle Cristo, Nerja, a very good tapas bar and restaurant. As a tapa I decided to try the paella as it looked rather appetising.
Paella all round
The San Isidro festivities have already begun for the senior citizens of the municipality, around 500 attending the traditional meal on Burriana beach. Paella was, of course, the order of the day.
