The Commission for Equality of the Congress of Deputies has unanimously approved the law which raises paternity leave from the current 15 days to one month.
Paternity leave to be extended
The CiU has reached an agreement with Congress to increase paternity leave from 15 days to 4 weeks as from January 1st 2011. It is anticipated that the agreement will be approved on June 18th by the Commission and then passed to the Senate. The Equality Act, adopted in March 2007, established a period of 15 days for paternity leave.
