Málaga Council is providing €454,000 for the pedestrianisation of calle del Mar in Torre del Mar, a project which started in September and, according to the Council, will be completed by Christmas.

After two years of delay, Vélez-Málaga Council is set to award the contract for the pedestrianisation of calle Del Mar in Torre del Mar, the aim being completion by Christmas.

Pedestrianisation projects in Torre del Mar
There are plans to make the southern end of calle Del Mar in Torre del Mar a ‘pedestrian only’ area, the are a affected being between Cuatro Esquinas and the promenade. The section of calle Del Mar between plaza de la Axarquía and Cuatro Esquinas will remain open to traffic.
Calle El Barrio project must have been delayed
At the beginning of September the Council approved the specifications for the pedestrianisation of calle El Barrio, the first phase covering the area from Plaza Cavana to cafe El Barrio, at a cost of €275,984 and to start after the feria in October. Well, no sign of it starting yet.
