Dia de la Cruz 2012 photos

There were some excellent crosses, as usual, in Nerja for Dia de la Cruz and plenty of tasty nibbles and drink to keep everyone happy. There was even the opportunity to see ‘churros’ being made by hand.

Calle El Barrio May 1st 2012

The tiles are now in place in calle El Barrio right up to cafeteria El Barrio, good news for the businesses and residents in the area. Much better being a pedestrianised street, easier to negotiate for all concerned.

A horsey day…

A glorious Saturday after the heavy winds of the past week and there were quite a few on the beaches, and the odd one on horseback. One man took his nag down to the river for a good paddle, while another horse enjoyed a stroll along the Rio Chillar walkway.

Cute Baby Otters

These otters were born in early January at Aquarium Kaiyukan in Osaka, Japan, and the photos were posted in March 2012. Baby Otters

Out and about April 17th 2012…

The on and off gusty winds, pretty strong at times, didn’t deter people from heading to the beach today. When the wind wasn’t blowing it was quite hot. The sea was also surprisingly calm, good news for the mariners.

Out and about April 8th 2012…

Good crowds everywhere today, not only for the procession, the Balcón de Europa being, as one would expect, a popular haunt. And the weather was glorious. Compared to many places in Andalucia over Easter, Nerja has done extremely well with only a few spots of rain during one of the processions.

Domingo de Ramos 2012

The sun came out for the traditional Palm Sunday – Domingo de Ramos – procession from Plaza de la Ermita to the El Salvador church on the Balcón de Europa. A good crowd followed the procession through the town.

Taking care of the orphans

Always a sucker for pictures of Orangutans, such lovely creatures but with very sad eyes. Orangutans

When was that put there?…

There were just a few people sunbathing on Carabeo beach today and a few venturing into the water on Calahonda beach. Glorious weather once again, glad the rain has generally been at night.
