Absolutely amazing weather for almost the middle of October, temperatures around 30 degrees, loads of people on the beaches, people swimming. And it is the first time in years that it hasn’t rained for Feria! A nice break from tradition, I must say.
Nerja Feria 2011 – Monday
Early evening and the feria ground is relatively deserted as the action shifts to plaza Tutti Frutti, calle Antonio Millón and the junction with calle Chaparil for a couple of hours.
Election of Junior Feria Queen and Caballero
Sunday afternoon at the Feria was the election of the Junior Feria Queen and Caballero in the Caseta Municipal. A very good turnout, as usual. Here are photos from the Junior event plus other assorted photos. Nerja Feria 2011

Calle Alejandro Bueno October 4th 2011
Work is now going on along the entire length of calle Alejandro Bueno, not that the street is actually that long. Access to the street is very limited at times. The renovation works are scheduled to take four months in total.

Tapas at Los Cuñaos
Los Cuñaos, or the ‘through bar’ as it is often known locally, has an excellent selection of tapas, fish and meat. I had some small ribs in a mushroom sauce, with actual mushrooms in it. Very nice sauce. A beer and a tapa, €1.30 so very good value.
Cute little things
Some lovely pictures of four baby red squirrels who were rescued after being blown from their nest by strong winds as the tail-end of Hurricane Katia hit the UK last week. Baby Red Squirrels
View from a beach towel…
For once the weather people were right and it did become ‘noticeably cooler’. Amazing what a difference a couple of degrees can make. Still nice and warm, though.
