Life is a beach at the moment…

Plenty of people enjoying the beaches at the moment, as one would expect. La Caletilla and Calahonda both popular as usual, Torrecilla packed with parasols until quite late in the evening.

Let there be trees

Work is currently being carried out in calle Antonio Millón to plant and stabilise trees in the ornamental boxes now lining the street. The works in the area are getting very close to completion, which will be good news for both the businesses and residents in the neighbourhood.

Nightly entertainment…

Yesterday, August 1st, saw the start of nightly entertainment in the Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos down by Torrecilla beach. Monday is ‘film night’. Lots of activity in the plaza, with crafts stalls, henna tattoo artists, trampoline, massage…

The feral moggies on the Balcón de Europa have the right idea in the warm weather, chill.

Horse play…

Nice to see the carriage boys giving it a go down at Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos, although not having much luck today. It has not been the same for them since they were forced to move from the central Balcon de Europà.

Out and About June 17th 2011…

This local fishermen was tending his nets just off the Balcon de Europa – pretty close in really, just outside the exclusion zone marked by the buoys. He wasn’t the only one trying to catch fish, but the only one using a net.
