A good crowd in the marquee in Plaza de España for the evening Carnival celebrations, starting with best costume and election of the Nymph and Ninfo for the juniors. Some of those participating in the junior section were as young as eighteen months.
Calle Los Huertos roadworks March 2nd 2011
There are two sets of roadworks being carried out in calle Los Huertos at the moment, making the entire road impassable for vehicles.
Good turnout for the Dia del Pedal
Andalucia Day and Dia del Pedal (Day of the Bicycle), although the annual cycling event appears to have become the main focus of attention on this day of celebration. A very good turnout as usual.

The weather really has taken a turn for the better during the past few days and it seems to be bringing people out of hibernation. The Balcon de Europa was verging on ‘packed’ today, which is encouraging.
Bottlenose dolphins at play
Some nice pictures of a group of frolicking bottlenose dolphins taken by amateur wildlife photographer Tim Stenton from Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Tim spent 100 days stationed on the beach at Chanonry Point overlooking the Scottish Highland’s Moray Firth, near Inverness, in order to get his photos. Dolphins
Busy, busy…
Sunday was quite a glorious day and the centre of town, particularly around the Balcon de Europa, was verging on ‘busy’. All the pavement cafes were doing a roaring trade, so maybe a good sign for the rest of the year. Many will certainly be hoping so.
Burriana beach, February 17th 2011…
A very windy day at times, although that didn’t stop quite a few people stretching out on the various beaches. At one stage on Burriana, the wind stirred the sand up into quite a thick cloud stretching from one end to the other. Only about one metre high, but quite impressive. Unless you were trying to sunbathe, of course.

A good night last night at The Boatyard bar on El Playazo beach, MG Rox reuniting for a one-off performance. The heating is good in the Boatyard, needs to be at the moment!
