The weather is very much up and down at the moment, one minute raining, the next minute sunny. When the sun is out, makes for some interesting photos as it shimmers on the shoreline.
A glorious January day…
Glorious day, a nice surprise as half of the country seems to be on some sort of alert for bad weather, and quite a few people down on Torrecilla beach. One actually braving the water!
Christmas across the globe
The Boston Globe rarely disappoints with its photo features. This time it’s one called Christmas across the Globe, aptly enough, and there are some pretty nice pics.
Ho Ho Ho 2010…
The weather changed just in time for Santa Claus, and this year Mrs Claus/partner, to take to the streets of Nerja. Plenty of little elves on the floats to hurl the boiled sweets at high velocity to the crowds lining the streets….Photos
Municipal Nativity Scene
The Municipal Nativity Scene is on display in the Municipal Exhibition Hall in calle Cristo and will be on show to the public until January 6th 2010, and the opening times are from 18:00 to 21:00 each day. The scene even features a pond complete with fish figurines.
Pearl Harbour

As ever, Boston.com has published an excellent set of photos of the event. Photo number 32 is particularly interesting, a reminder of a bygone era. Pearl Harbor, 69 years ago today
That’s more like it…
Despite very thick, dark clouds over the hills early this morning it turned out to be a glorious day, hot even. A nice break from the recent wet and cold. Quite a few people were back in shorts and there were even more donning t-shirts once more, enjoying it while it lasts.
Reality check…
One does get just a little bit soft after a time living on the coast, classifying anything under about twenty degrees as being ‘bitter’ and complaining when we have to don a sleeve, so it’s a nice little reality check when you get some photos sent in from people who are ‘really’ cold at the moment.
Nerja Christmas lights
The Christmas lights are beginning to go up on the Balcon de Europa and work is going on in other areas of the town to make the whole place festive. One of the first to be put in place was a huge ‘Felicidades’ sign on the Town Hall.
