The Gaudi bus, a travelling exhibition centre commemorating some of the work of the world famous architect, is down in Parque Verano Azul until Friday evening. Parque Verano Azul is also ver colourful at the moment, not only the big red bus but also the local blooms.
Rivers and foals…
Went for a stroll along the rio Chillar, nice to see it flowing. Getting across isn’t the easiest of tasks, in the end it was a question of shoes off, roll up the trousers and wade to the other side.
The terraces return to Plaza Cavana
The bar and restaurant terraces have once again appeared in and around Plaza Cavana after the recent renovations. It also seems that, for the moment at least, traffic is being permitted to enter via calle Diputación and exit via calle Granada. Hopefully, unlike with calle Animas and calle Pintada, the section in front of Hotel Plaza Cavana will be strong …
More San Isidro pics…
Some more pictures of the San Isidro celebrations, these sent to us by Kevin Knight, a regular contributor of some great photos. You can see the album of photos from Kevin HERE. Also check out some of his other galleries while you’re at it.

Plaza Cavana – open again
Plaza Cavana is once again open and apart from any seating, which presumably will be added at some stage, it is finished and looking good. Plenty of blocks to sit on in the meantime.
Plaza de la Ermita and Plaza Cantarero
Quite a few workmen busy in Plaza Cantarero on Wednesday as the square slowly begins to take shape. On the other hand, no-one working in Plaza de la Ermita.
Barriers go up in Plaza Cavana
Speculation that traffic entering calle Diputación would, as in the past, continue to exit via calle El Barrio is at an end with the construction of barriers in Plaza Cavana preventing such a route.
Thursday wander…
Quite a few people ambling around on the Balcon de Europa today, the ice cream sellers doing quite well. They have also been doing a bit of painting, the metal parts of the seats and the frames of the cannons. Not that it mattered to one set of kids: ‘What does pintado mean?’ asked one child, already astride the cannon …
Plaza Cavana, May 1st 2010
The building works in Plaza Cavana are now in their seventh month and, hopefully, nearing completion. The decorative street lamps are now in place.
